Require 3.55 Japan OFW. Also can it run through MFW

Hello, just got a console off someone but its all in Japanese.

I tried 3.55 cfw US on it but no boot but can still get into recovery menu so figured it really needs a japan update firmware.

Can someone be so kind as to point me to a 3.55 Japanese firmware file. Prefer Original so I can run it through MFW Tool (is that possible? should be)

It's region free, so any update should work, maybe the update you have is corrupted. Also, if you're using windows, make sure it's PS3UPDAT.PUP instead of PS3UPDAT.PUP.PUP

yeah, the md5 of ALL update PUP's of a particular version is all the same no matter what region it is downloaded from (the only difference is the server that it is downloaded from really)

Ahh so I discovered. Cheers for heads up.

Looks like I will need to load Rebug onto this console as to correct the X/O reversal and also the bluray region.
