Hi, I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but the search function didn't deliver any related posts.
I'm wondering if you can simply delete any installed packages, update firmware and go back online and especially play online without getting banned.
(Though I guess you can't be sure unless they do a banwave?)

No one is really sure.
Your best bet is to do a complete format of your PS3, then upgrade and connect. Even then, it may be possible for Sony to detect the past hacks and ban you. At this time we aren't sure what logs are touched when you Jb, or what Sony is checking for.
hope that clears it up for you.

even you removed the jailbreak and all the files and you want to go to online and after you dont use jailbreak again offline .
if you want to go online and play games online then you have to update to 3.50 and in this case you will lose the ability to use jailbkreak

Yes, I'm aware of that and it's what I wanted to do.

I don't see any reason for Sony to implement a banwave right now. A banwave is only likely when a custom firmware that enables online begins to surface, however.

We can't make such assumptions now, shall we? Sony haven't banned a user for using any jailbreak device yet...
