regarding PS3 Firmware and jailbreak

Hi

I currently do not own a PS3 and have had a xbox 360 until now. But with the xbox 360 having 3 red light problems i have decided to get a PS3.

On amazon there seems to be a new ps3 slim 160gb coming out in october. I am presuming that this will come with the latest firmware at the time. So i was wondering, if it has the latest firmware. Is it possible to revert back to the old firmware.

I had a quick look at sony website and they have all the "software updates" archive there, so it just a matter of downloading a older version and installing it.

Or can you not install older firmware if a higher version is present ?

You can't install an older firmware on the PS3.

The best firmware for now of course is v3.41 if you wish to use the PSGroove or one of the PSJailbreak devices.

I am sure Sony will release a v3.42 tomorrow to patch it.

go to the playstation 3 website then support its around there somewhere
