Recovery menu problems
Recovery menu problems –
i need some help from you guys. my pals phat ps3 has its touch buttons on the front panel not responsive so its not possible to put the machine into recovery menu by the usual holding reset button until it switches on n off then holding it until 2 consecutive beeps. cud anyone tell me of a different method of getting the ps3 into recovery menu or is there a homebrew pkg i cud install that wud put the console into that recovery menu???
another question is, for a console that already has kmeaw cfw, what wud be the effect of initiating the option of "rebuilding database" that is available on the recovery menu? wud it remove the cfw and go back to ofw? wud it somehow screw up the console? wud it prevent a cfw from working again on the console? any insight into this will be appreciated. and what exactly does tht option of "rebuild database" do??
I'm not positive but the reboot.pkg that is used for OtherOS++ might do it(but without OtherOS++ installed) it did it for me but I cant remember the exact setup I had at the time. Rebuild database wont do anything to CFW but there's a good chance that an error will occur and you will have to format/re-install(whatever firmware you were using or equivelant) CFW always errors for me when rebuilding database or restoring file system.
Edit: nope sorry I just tested and reboot.pkg just reboots on non-otherOS++
