    Hi,
it was late yesterday, I'm new to this ps3 flashing and i have installed this: 4_30_1_PS3UPDAT firmware from rebug

    My problems are:
    • I tried to backup "sega superstars tenns" (2009)=> doesnt work either with IrisManager 1,55 else MultiMan4_19_02
    • Tried downgrading to rebug 3.55 => doesn't work. 999 downgrader and all sub 4.30.1 firmwares have data corruption errors after files saved, in rec mode they dont get recognized

    My questions are:

    • How can I downgrade to REBUG_4_21_2_REX_PS3UPDAT
    • Whats wrong with my backup workflow?

    Backup Workflow:
    1. Insert Disk
    2. Start Manager (IRIS, Multi)
    3. copy disk
    4. check rights
    5. put other ps3 disk in drive (is this necessary?)
    6. click on saved disk icon in manager
    7. leave manager with error unkown
    8. click on changed icon for current inserted bd disk

Very noobish, but I hope someone has the time. Greets

EDIT: just my own backups dont work others work
    EDIT2:
it seemse to be a problem with the game sega superstars tennis, anyway how can I fall back to a more improved firmware?

**** URL CHECKER IN THIS FORUM HAVE TO WRITE EVERYTHING AGAIN CAUSE YOU DONT KNOW THE RIGHT REGEXP!!!! IF YOU NEED A BETTER REGEXP CONTACT ME! NOT EVERYTHING WITH A DOT IS A LINK!!

Doesnt work, in this mode it says that nothing is on my usb stick. In xmb it tries to ionstall but alwas fails for file corruption. But 4.30.1 installs anyway.

I have first instralled OFW 3_55 then REbug 3_55_4 then Rebug 4_30_1
I dont know if the QA-Flab was enabled. In menu 4.30.1it sais debug mode cex-qa?

after installing 4_30_1 i wanted to downgrade with 999_pub this doesn't work. Then I tried diffrent "system update dump" and debug mode setting nothing worked.

I finaly managed to go back to 3.55

search for 4.25to3.55 downgrader, its an hybrid 3.55 firmware. If this is installed it should be possible to switch the qa mode and then install the original 3.55 through recovery mode

You shouldn't have downgraded mate, you should have upgraded to Rebug 4.30.2 by following this guide:

    1- Make NOR/NAND dump (optional):
Install latest version of multiMAN, plug in a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive into the right USB port, go to mmOS->Select any file->Open in HEX viewer->[SELECT]->[START]->DUMP LV2(NO)->DUMP LV1(NO)->DUMP FLASH(YES)

2- Install Rebug 4.30.2 from XMB:
Download Rebug 4.30.2 from Rebug's website, rename the PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP and put it on your FAT32 formatted flash drive in PS3\UPDATE and go to System Update and Update via Storage Media. Make sure there's no original game disk in the drive and that you don't Update via Internet or else you would risk installing OFW higher than 3.55!

    3- Enable QA:
Install Rebug Toolbox from Package Manager, launch it and enable QA under Utilities. This is to ensure easier and safer downgrading.

4- Install Rebug Update Package 0.1:
Download Rebug_Update_Package.pkg from Rebug's website, install it from Package Manager, launch it under Games, follow the on screen prompts, PS3 will reboot if needed when finished. Once the PS3 has rebooted you can delete Rebug Update Package from your XMB as it is not needed. You can also change System Mode to Rebug to spoof to 4.40, XMB Operation Mode to Retail and Debug Menu Type to CEX QA. This is to ensure you have the Retail menus instead of the Debug menus which you probably don't need.
    CECHL 500GB: OFW 2.50 > OFW 2.76 > OFW 3.41 w/ dongle > OFW 3.55 > 3.55 kmeaw > Rebug 4.30.1 > Rebug 4.30.2

Btw, you could have enabled QA from Rebug 4.30.1 with the latest Rebug Toolbox.

I had no problem updating, but cause I used the 999 downgrade once my firmware was kind of damaged and didn't accept lower firmwares than 4.3

    Now everything works just fine 3.55cfw > 4.3 cfw > 3.55 cfw > 3.55ofw

    But thx

Again, you shouldn't have downgraded, you risked bricking. You could have installed Rebug 4.30.2 directly from XMB.

Anyways, now you're on OFW 3.55, follow my guide in post 6 starting from step 2 to install Rebug 4.30.2.
    CECHL 500GB: OFW 2.50 > OFW 2.76 > OFW 3.41 w/ dongle > OFW 3.55 > 3.55 kmeaw > Rebug 4.30.1 > Rebug 4.30.2

I think you dont get the point. I tried what you said and I always got an error for damaged data after the ps3 restarts or starts installing the firmware. But thx anyway. Im NOW able to switch between every firmware I want.

The problem I had seems very few. Thats why I had to search for weeks for an working solution and your solution didn't work. I tried all this stuff at the first day.
