REBUG 4.21.1 REX - Button Layout Question
REBUG 4.21.1 REX - Button Layout Question –
11-25-2012,07:20 PM
I have a JAP PS3 and the buttons are mixed up (O is enter and X is cancel) and in many homebrew apps, they use X as enter and O as cancel so it gets a bit confusing at times with menus. How can I change the button layout for XMB and such to be X as enter and O as cancel.
I checked online and have not yet come to a clear conclusion on how to fix this.

Rogero PS3 Buttons Layout Changer v1.1 (28/05/2011)
—————————————————-
- Added support for fewer PS3 models that didn’t work with version 1.0
- added the Geohot/Wutangrza compatible package as requested by some users.
Rogero PS3 Buttons Layout Changer v1.0
—————————————
This is a small application for the PlayStation(R)3 that can change the default Buttons Layout (Cross or Circle being the default Enter/Accept Button).
It is useful for the JPN PS3 model owners to make “X”/Cross the Default [Enter/Accept] Button like the USA/EUR PS3 Models.
- It is compatible with PS3 FW Version 3.41 & 3.55 only.
- It checks for the PS3 FW version automatically and can detect it even if a spoof was applied.
- Many errors checking routines are applied before changing any parameters.
I wrote it for my personal use, I do have a JPN PS3, and I thought of sharing it because it may help other users too who wants to change their JPN PS3 Buttons Layout in a simple/quick way.
Cheers,
[Rogero]
you might have to resign the eboot but it still should work for rebug 4.21 as its still based off 3.55

Sadly I have tried the method above, but the version of the software was 1.3 and have had no success. It just said that I wasn't on 3.41/3.55 and returned to XMB.
EDIT: The PKG that I installed was also resigned for 4.21 as well. It was giving me the error above

Set debug menu to debug in rebug toolbox then change it in the debug settings O button behavior I think that should do what you want.

If i found your post 20 minutes ago before I found it personally, that would have been amazing
Yes. That has solved my problem, but I am still curious if this travels on to future firmwares.

I don't think it will but I think if you use C2D to change your region to US that would do it.

Does it require C2D? or is this possible with the Debug settings?

I think if you did it like that it would change back if you did a system update because your target ID would still be set to 83 (Japan)
