Hi I'm already on rebug 4.21.1 and i was trying to change to DEX, Can this be done if I'm already on rebug?
I already dumped my flash with rebug toolbox and installed c2d and openssl, The readme file in c2d says i need this, EID root key (per_console_key) obtained with metldrpwn (48 bytes or full 256KB)
I read somewhere i can't do this part on rebug or was that incorrect info?
Any info on what to do to change CEX to DEX and is it worth it? What benefits do i get from switching to DEX?
I have a CECH-2501B

As far as I know none of the EID dumper tools have been updated for 4.21 yet so you would have to go back to 3.55 to use them, and at the moment the only reason to convert to DEX is if you have a faulty disc drive.

PS3 SuperSlim 120gb Firmware: 4.31 OFW / PS3 Slim 1Tb Firmware: Rebug 4.30.2

What about being able to spoof your IDPS from 0x82(DEX) to your original ones and logon to PSN without the risk of being banned? I'm not 100% sure, but from deank's words I think that's only possible in DEX mode...
"The part that is even COOLER is that once in DEX mode you can switch to CEX kernel or spoof your IDPS from 0x82(DEX) to your original and logon to PSN. Of course while on DEX you can use BDEMU or ProDG or anything DEX specific. When you're 'tired' of it - fire up the toolbox and switch to CEX, reboot, voala - takes ~ 5 seconds to switch. Tired of CEX and DEX, then boot OtherOS and play with Linux."
