Really new to all of this. got few questions –
dont know where to start but i have one main question. is it possible to just copy a ps3 game from the disc to the pc then transfer it to my external harddrive ? i know i`ll need to install some sort of patch for each game so it runs on a lower firmeware but if you`ve got guide step by steps that would be great.
im on firmeware 3.55
got the ps3 a few nights ago so im kinda new to all of this
i havent connected it to the wifi but i heard that the homebrew apps can be updated so is it safe to connect it to the wifi ?
if they`res any other useful tips and tricks i`ll appreciate the heads up. thanks
Unless you have a special drive that I'm not aware of you cannot copy ps3 game discs to your computer using your PC's bluray drive. PS3 game disc data sectors are locked and inaccessible from PCs. They must be inserted into a PS3 to unlock them. From there you can use multiman to copy the game
Sorry, didn't read your whole post. Yes you can connect safely to WiFi. Just make sure you turn off the auto logon to PSN before you set it up. You can use the internet on your PS3, you just can't go on PSN or play games online. You do not need to install a patch for every game that you play, only for the games that are using the new keys, which I think is about 20 at the most. If you do decide to transfer games from your pc to your PS3 you'd have to either transfer them to a USB drive or use an FTP program to transfer the files using your router. WiFi usually sucks at transfer rates so I'd suggest a LAN cable or the USB idea. If you need any help figuring it out, just let me know
