I can't help wondering what other devices Sony has, with a USB connection that has been released since the PS3... maybe the security is used in other devices?!
There has to be another reason, other than protecting the PS3 for this HUGE amount of legal shenanigans.
Lol... did they base the PSP2 on this security? lol That would be funny."

"i agree with you there must be something that they are hiding if they are taking actions this big. when people started playing pirate games on the psp nothing like this happened or on the ps1 and ps2 how comes all of a sudden they are taking everyone to court there must be another reason behind it looks like we will just have to wait and see :P"
and i agree also with them like why sony is really pissed off with the ps3 hacks but with psp hacks , ps2, and ps1 they were pissed off but they didn't got mad and judges, courts blablablaaaa so there is something we don't know it yet so hackers please find it out
The difference in their reaction could just be that, instead of having their system hacked within a month like previous systems, the ps3 has been safe and secure for years. That's years for Sony's lawyers to sit round, twiddle their thumbs and prepare for the day it is eventually hacked.
well i'm sure there is something more that playing pirated or backup games
I guess in the past sony earned enough money with hardware... so they didn't care a lot about hacking...
But maybe they don't with the ps3 hardware...
Could be a reason. Isn't it?
if we find stolen codes wooooww it will be great because then sony will get f**ked and will use their lawyer to defend their selves , and it will kinda stop filling documents against the hackers and the resellers
What in those comments or in this thread is "really important to the hackers"?
What possible 'stolen codes' would you guys be referencing to?
PS Jailbreak Compatibility:
Looking for any PS3 firmware, see here:
Isn't it a myth that Sony loses money on hardware? I think this only occurred on the original phat PS3s, but since then they've made money on hardware.
If I wasn't too lazy to find a source I would.
Also, it could be because the Jig was originally a dev thing and now Sony has to come up with a new way to launch a development mode.
