Quick Format or Full Format going from CFW to OFW.

I decided to unjail my ps3 since umvc3 is coming out today and in following the steps of doing it I was wondering if Quick Format was sufficient enough or do I have to do a Full Format. The Full Format said it would take 18hrs 30 min so I did the quick format and it says I have 263gb available out of 298gb space but I have a 320gb ps3. It also still shows the folders for /app_home/PS3_Game & Install Package Files under the game icon for the ps3, shouldn't those have been deleted? Thanks in advance to whoever answers

the only difference between quick format and full format is that full format does a byte for byte overwrite of the hard disk. This isn't necessary for what you need to do. You are fine with the quick format. the difference in your hard drive size is due to the fact that a hard drive manufacturer uses the number of megs or bytes if you want to get technical, let's just say 10000 megs (10 gigs) for the sake of argument. They will call it a 10 gig drive but because a meg is 1024 kilobytes and a gig is 1024 megs, then the number that's displayed in your operating system will always be lower than what the manufacturer advertises it as. Also, there are still files on your hard drive needed by the PS3 to function properly. As for why the Installl pkg files is still showing up is that I think you might still be on CFW or the update you did to official firmware had an error in it. Try going into system recovery and installing the official firmware from there

Yes after I installed ofw the intall pgk disappeared. Thanks for the reply, and yes bitsbubba it was a hard decision but I want to play umvc3 tonight and go online for other games.
