Question : JB2 dongle + Kmeaw 3.55 + Backup manager compatibility
Question : JB2 dongle + Kmeaw 3.55 + Backup manager compatibility –

I suppose this question has probably surfaced before but I am a bit lazy to search.
I have a 3.41 OFW PS3 slim using the E3 dongle. I wish to buy a TB dongle. My questions are :
1) Can I update straight to Kmeaw 3.55/Rebug firmware prior to the TB firmware?
2) When the TB pkg is applied, is the firmware modified or is it just in memory so long as the TB dongle is present
3) If the Kmeaw firmware is permanently overwritten, can I still play current games meant for Kmeaw 3.55?
4) Are all TB compatible games workable on external HDD other than those which have psarc files >4gb? Is there a way to make all games external HDD compatible?
Thanks...

If you are wanting a True Blue dongle then you have to simply forget about Kmeaw. You can not use it. I use the Rebug 3.55.2 TB edition cfw which is great. You keep all the features you had before. All of the TB games work off the external hard drive. Some games like AC:Revelations require you to delete the Assassins Creed 1 game to play on external. You have to keep the TB dongle plugged in for it to work.

What about PSN Duplex releases and earlier games just running on Kmeaw 3.55? Will those work?
Also I read from somewhere that the TB dongle cannot be removed for the PS3 to function properly. Is that true? What happens if the dongle becomes defective? Will I be able to install back OFW/CFW (Kmeaw) without the dongle?

Yes, everything works. You do not lose any features. It is still custom firmware. If your True Blue becomes defective you simply change your firmware to Kmeaw or Rebug. True Blue firmware is not 3.6+ firmware. You are not stuck if you use it.

Sorry for riding on Migoto's question but...I've ordered a TB dongle and am yet to receive it. My PS3 is currently on KMEAW 3.55 CFW. I understand that for the TB dongle to work, a different CFW needs to be installed. Can this be installed directly from KMEAW or do I have to figure out a way to go from KMEAW 3.55 to OFW 3.55 and then install the CFW for the TB dongle? My apologies in advance if this has already been asked and answered but I just could not find a direct answer to this anywhere.
