Question about updating PS3 Games?

I have a 3.41 PS3, with the Hermes V3 with (Hermes+Waninkoko+Mathieulh)

I currently have disabled internet so I don't have to update, If I enable it will I be able to simply load up a backup on (OM 1.16), and then update the game?

I am scared of being forced to upgrade to 3.50?

Just run the game and it will ask you to download the game update ( if there is one ) , to be safe , make sure you read what PS3 is asking you to do before accepting ...
