Question about QA flag
Question about QA flag –
11-16-2012,07:19 AM
Just got my CFW installed this week so I'm new to the scene, so plz forgive the n00b question.
I'm reading on here that its always good to install the QA flag after going to CFW. But I don't quite understand why... something to do with helping prevent bricks. But how? what's it actually do?
Don't need anything too technical, I just want to know why I should install it.
Thanks in advance!

This has been asked a few times, but there doesn't seem to be a clear answer. I think what happens is very technical in nature, and there's no good way to explain to a layperson. Unfortunately, "It helps prevent bricks" is probably the best description we are going to get.

Done a few googles and as far I can tell (from my very limited understanding) all it does is enable additional options in the xmb that are normally hidden. However as no guides/posts Ive seen ever mention changing any of these settings after installing the flag I don't see the point in putting it on at all.
Guess I won't bother installing unless someone here knows different.

Well, if you plan on updating your firmware at any point I would suggest installing and enabling QA. What firmware are you on now? Because you can only really enable QA on 3.55 anyway.
