Question about NPDRM and 3.60

Hi guys,
There is something I haven't understood yet.
As I know the keys for 3.60 are known, so that 3.60 eboots can be modified.
(Replacing the 3.60 keys by 3.55 ones, that's what I guess.)

However, I've always heard that patches used NPDRM which is not cracked yet.
So if it's true I wonder how it is possible to convert patched (officially patched)
3.60 eboots in order to let them run on a 3.55 firmware.
Example: Gran Turismo 5 1.10!
