Hello, I'm new to this website and I was just wondering is there a available downloadable jailbreak I can either put on my 8gb usb or 16gb usb? I haven't downloaded a jailbreak file before. And, I was also wondering how can I check what firmware version my ps3 slim is?

Go to settings, second from the left, then go down about half way and choose system settings, and then go all the way down and choose system information

Ok, thanks I checked and I have version 4.00. Now, my second question is as stated above is there a available Jailbreak for the Slim model? Because, I could have swore that someone was working on something like that. I think his name was Kakarot?

NO, you need to check your model number and check online to see what the lowest downgradable firmware is. Then you need to purchase a NOR flasher and that is a process that sounds like it is out of your league at the moment. Kakarato is working on a 4.00 jailbreak that will allow you to run homebrew but no back up managers as he does not promote piracy. Im sure if he succeeds in his work others will continue the work to make back up managers to work. If you want a jailbroken ps3 your best bet is to sit and wait and if sony updates their firmware DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PS3!

I thought the only thing you need is a USB, a downloaded Jailbreak files and then copy them on to your usb. And, load it up on your PS3?

It would have been that easy if you were on OFW 3.55 or lower. But since you have updated to the latest firmware, there is no way to jailbreak without downgrading with a nor flasher(which consists of taking your console apart) as stated above.

So, is there any new updates on Kakaroto's cfw 4.00 downgrade?
