Question about going from WutangRZA/Geohot to Kmeaw.

I'm wanting to upgrade to Kmeaw and have a couple of questions.

Should I put my PS3 in recovery mode to get back on OFW 3.55, then back into recovery mode to Kmeaw CFW 3.55?

Also, I really don't want to re-rip all my games/homebrew. Will this erase everything I already backed up/installed?

Thanks, I'm on a 40GB fat PS3 if it matters.

nope, you wont lose anything, and yes, thats whats recomended when doing cfw.

Ha, yea. I know what you mean.

Anyway, I got Kmeaw installed and all of my homebrew still works, but there the install package file isn't there.

Do I have to install Geohot ontop of Kmeaw to get that?

You shouldn't have to do anything. Make sure you have kmeaw and not the wutangrza firmware.

Alright, I wasn't watching my PS3 last time I did it.

When I start updating via recovery mode, the ps3 stops the update of OFW 3.55 at around 70% and just resets. My homebrew still loads after the apparently failed update to OFW 3.55, but install .pkg files is gone.

Any reason my PS3 would have problems updating to OFW 3.55?

No, I've only upgraded my HDD to a 500GB.

That's usually a sign of hdd corruption or a bad component. Try running the hdd options in recovery mode.
