are you doing this over wifi?? if your using your PS3 over wifi and your using a laptop over wifi its gonna be slower, but not 9 KB's slow........

    so here's how I do it -

    1) I plug my PS3 directly into my PC with an ethernet cable.

    2) I use Blackbox FTP on my PS3 and Flash FXP on my PC.

RESULT = transfer speeds of like 28 MB/s

since I moved to Rogero 4.30 V2 I haven't used blackbox FTP, I just use the built in MultiMan FTP server, but my transfer speeds are pretty much the same.

Make sure that your PS3 and your PC are connected to the same access point. Like sergio said above, you might want to use Ethernet and connect directly or through a router. If you are using a router, make sure that you change the Internet Connection Settings to use the wired connection as opposed to the wireless one.
