psp on ps3 by renecrption possible ?? –
Would it be possible to decrypt a psp eboot.bin recrypt it and sign it using ps3 keys and play it on the ps3 ? similar to whats being done to run 3.50 games ?
The people here never cease to amaze me.
assanine responses never cease to amaze me making you worse then people who ask dumb questions
A psp game is not a PS3 game. The PS3 itself uses an emulator, i think, for psp games. However, last night on the dev IRC chat, "someone" was saying that he now has all the pieces of the puzzle to emulate the PSP and that it can now be done on PC and the PS3. Of course, this is strictly for "debugging" purposes
wtf my post duplicated lol pls delete
This will be possible eventually. Those keen to the PSP scene would remember when the tools were released to create PS1 eboots. Just as the PSP has a built-in PS1 emulator, the PS3 has a built-in PSP emulator, hence the playability of PSP Minis and such from the PSN Store is possible in the first place. What would have to happen here is that we would need to develop a program to convert your standard PSP game into the same format as the PSP games you would download from the PSN Store. Tools and programs of this type already exist for the PSP, but another would need to be created to convert them for the PS3. I'm sure there must be at least a few PSP devs already hard at work trying to figure this out. It's only a matter of time. Patience is our best friend in that respect, so just wait it out and see. Or better yet, we could always start learning how to code this stuff ourselves. We have the keys, the documentation and the SDK's. All we need now is the motivation.
Doesn't the PSP play games in 480x272 res?
Gonna look pretty crap compared to the likes of GT5 in 1080
I think I will stick with playing my PSP games on my PSP .
Edit: Whilst I know older systems use lower res, I can forgive a Megadrive game looking like crap because it always did (resolution wise), the PSP games look really good..... on that tiny screen.
