Hi,
I just got PS3 today and it has 3.66 stock FW in it. When I try to signup for PSN it asks me to upgrade my firmware to the latest one. Pls let me know how do I access PSN without upgrading the FW. or Pls suggest me what needs to be done here.. is it okay to upgrade?.. Thank You!

you cant access psn unless you update to the latest firmware, which as of now is 4.00
its not piracy if you dont own a sword or a parrot

if it is stock 3.66 you might not able to downgrade anyway depending on model number ps3 if it came out of box on 3.66 you will brick it if you go below
check your model first

It's quite simple really - To get onto PSN you need the latest firmware.
Then when Sony release the next firmware, you need to be on that.
And the next one, and the next one ...
Using PSN basically means you forfeit any hope of moving onto a CFW, which may or may not be CFW3.73 (not yet released - maybe never will).
