PSGroove/BM and blu-ray laser

All,

I have recently installed psgroove/bm via my teensy++ and all is working great. I have backed up my games to the internal hd...again working great.

My question is when I insert any original ps3 game to play one of my backups, is the blu-ray laser constantly reading the original ps3 disk while the backup is playing off the hard drive?

My hope was to do this to save wear and tear on the drive laser. Can anyone confirm if it is always reading the disc, or does it just use it to verify and boot, and then sit idle?

No it stops after a few minutes. I think it's the same amount of time as when you're watching a video or something in the XMB and then the disc stops spinning.
