PSGroove Blocked? 3.41

ok so i jailbroke my ps3 with my iPod 5g the otherday, i hadn't touched my ps3 since i heard about the scene movement lol. So anyway, my internet wasn't connected at all, but today i decided to connect my internet for my ps3 so that i can try out the ftp server. ok before people start asking, i have all downloads turned off, i haven't installed any firmware past 3.41. My system info verifies that i am still on 3.41. Also i have signing into PSN Disabled as well.

So automatically when the internet connects i do get the message that there is a system update but i ignore it. Well, since my ps3 is connected to the internet i decide to run the ps3 in jailbreak mode so that i can test out the ftp server. And i go thru the procedure and out of NOWHERE i get a "unkown usb devise is connected message" while at the user screen, i think nothing of it and proceed to game folder only to find i messed up?

I try again to reload the jailbreak and i keep getting the same thing. Now i don't know if maybe im doing something wrong or if Sony secretly installed something just cuz i was connected to the internet. Your guess is as good as mine but my Jailbreak method is no longer working.

Any suggestions/opinions would b greatly appreciated. I am new to this whole thing so maybe its a user error, I sure hope so!

Did you remember to fully power off the PS3 before retrying?

dude i have always had UNKNOWN USB DEVICE CONNECTED ever since i hacked my ps3... which was fully formatted and reset etc via the ps3 "secret" menu as my disc drive broke so i tried everything to get it working (with no joy)

that error is not a problem mate mine works fine... and as long as you dont update to 3.42 or above then you are fine to be connected to internet on ps3... mine auto connects via wifi when i turn it on... no problems this end....

you need to fully turn off ps3 and hard reset ipod each time MENU + SELECT on ipod

then just make sure you time it right when pressing select on ipod (rockbox.ipod file)

press it to late and you will crash at xmb... press it to soon hack will not work

yes i did, i have the 1st 60gb model so all i keep doing is powering off from the power switch, turn it back on, plug in my ipod run the jailbreak and push power and eject.

I am continuing to do this as we speak and i keep getting the same error message, "unkown USB Device is connected" Any more insight is appreciated.

Ok sounds good,lol yea man im all worried over here lol im guessing its just a mistake on my part since i have not read of anyone else having this issue, For now i will keep trying and reply when i finally get it right lol hopefully i can get it too work again.

my iPod 5g has the whole menu Linux PSgroove and Rockbox. I choose psgroove let it load then start the exploit. Let me know if this is wrong lol

OK, so it was a false alarm!!!! Forgive me for being a nub to the ps3 scene :P This thread can be closed, sorry guys and thanx for the help RIPPERED.

Btw, any tuts on gettin FTP goin that you may know of? i could not for the life of me figure out how to get it working through LAN im sure wirelessly will be cake but i could not get my ps3 to connect, thinking it's cause i'm probably using a str8 ethernet and not a crossover but im not sure.

Anyway, false alarm! No secret block from connecting to internet lol /shameful!

i have ipod video too with same settings as you you need to browse to folder PSGROOVE from rockbox menu after u select PSGROOVE from the blue screen menu

the best way to setup ftp is with a cable as wifi is sooooo slow! plug in cable to router and ps3 then run ftp 1.1b then get filezilla or cuteftp and connect to the ip on the screen on ps3

you are running jailbreak at wrong time dude
RESET IPOD (MENU + SELECT)
select psgroove
goto psgroove folder (this should be created by you and have the rockbox.ipod file in)
turn on ps3 with power + eject
wait for screen to flicker just before u see the XMB WAVES this may take few trys to get workin
but when you see the flicker press select on the rockbox.ipod file

job done
