ps3usbjailbreak + Sports Champions problem :(

I've just got the ps3usbjailbrak dongle, updated to 3.41, installed backup and open manager. I've set it to 3.50 emulation. If I check the version in system information, it says 3.50.So far so good.

However, I have the Sports Champions game, and if I try playing it from the disc, it shows some instructions in the beginning (to set the camera to wide angle, etc) and then the screen goes black and the PS3 freezes.

The same happens if I backup the game and try to play using both backup manager and open manager.

Other games seem to be working fine (although I don't have any other games requiring the 3.50 fw).

Please help :(((

i just finished backing up this game using open manager 1.17.2 and hermes 4b 3.55 spoof and it works fine... try multiMAN..

my problem is same as your problem.when I played Uncharted 2 and Dead to rights,the screen is going black and ps3 is freezing. Plz help !!!!

Reformated the dongle, reinstalled hermes 4b 3.50 spoof, tried multiMAN - still no go, same problem.

However, the spoof on the ps3usbjailbreak site is for 3.50. Maybe if I try the 3.55 it will run fine?

Where do I get the HEX for the 3.55 spoof?

found the 3.55 spoof - same problem

reinstalled the 3.41 firmware (checked MD% - confirmed good) - still having same issue, WTF???

any ideas?

same problem here ... wont start with all managers but with new open manager and patched mode on i could start it until the diego studios intro then the ps3 stuck ... all other managers made the ps3 stuck after move instructions ...

any issues to fix this problem? i would like to play that game :)

i read somewhere because the game was upped with ****ing rar files that all the .s01 and so on must be unpacked seperate ... now i have more data that i will add to the once already unpacked ...

hopefully this is the end of the problem... will give it a try now ... report later :)

Here is what I did to get my Sport Champions Move to work.

I have the p3hub2 running the latest hermes hex release.

I just bought it yesterday and no matter what I did, it would not work.

I ripped it to internal and external HDD using 3 different managers including Multiman, Gaia and OM. Nothing worked. Black screen or reboot to XMB.

I even went so far to update to 3.50 to play it and then downgrade to no avail.

I wasn't going to let it get the best of me so I used the just another software update (whatever it is called) and searched the title ID for updates. Low and behold there was a 1.02 retail update. I thought what the hell. I downloaded it and applied the update.

Now the Sport Champions works without fail using Multiman and Gaia. Havent tried OM since I uninstalled it.

Might try that. Hopefully it will work.

Edit: BTW, If I recall, I did allow it to patch to 3.41

I had the exact same problem my sports champions it was purchased at christmas time and it required an update to v 3.50 to run it playing from the disc or even from back up manager it would freeze after the first 2 screens on a black screen. all i did to get it working was i backed up my disc via backup manager in jailbreak mode then I downloaded just the eboot file from a sport champions torrent on thepiratebay.org not the entire game. Then I put the hermes v4b 3.55 spoof on my ipod nano 1 gb for rockbox. i replaced the eboot file by FTPing replacing the original eboot and i delete the update.pup. then i restarted my ps3 in jailbrake mode with the 3.55 spoof and it worked perfectly after that.
my ps3 is the phat 40 gb spiderman 2 edition with the hdd replaced with a 160 gb and its on version 3.41 and i use hermes v4b on rockbox on my ipod nano 1 gb 1st gen.

how do you do the update for sports champion?
