PS3s getting banned?

Saw this on Craigslist

* There is a catch - The reason this PS3 is so inexpensive is because it cannot use PlayStation Network. The Console has been banned from PlayStation Network but can still access and browse the Internet. That means no online gaming for this console.

So does this mean Sony is starting to ban people using JB or will they ban consoles for other reasons?

I don't see where he mentioned Jailbreak anywhere, so what would lead you to that assumption? There are a multitude of reasons his acct was banned.

Why would he mention JB on an ad? And you misread, it's not his account that got banned, it's the system.

Doesn't mean ps3 was banned cuz of jailbreaking ask the seller how it was banned.

Limited reading skills here. Notice how in the OP I asked if there were other reasons for banning systems? Care to answer that or are you just speculating?

I don't believe that there are any reports indicating a system ban related to using a PS3 jailbreak method.

There weren't any reported bannings when people were playing on PSN with jailbroken PS3s, and since we cannot connect to the PSN any more without being on the latest firmwares I'm certain that this console is banned for another reason.

It's also possible that they are all banned. They just don't know it yet because they havent updated to 3.50.

No, people that updated to use their hacked MW2 patches weren't banned.
