I think the deal is, what ever your system came with, that is the lowest it can be downgraded to. I am not sure why, just now that is how it is.

2) While still OFF connect your Jailbreak/Downgrade device and press POWER then quickly Eject, you PS3 console should turn itself off automatically.

You need to turn you Jailbreak Device, into a Downgrade device.The files are available at Official PS3Key Website for you.
Register with your email address, agree to their terms, and input your serial number of your real PS3KEY dongle, and then you get to select the right files ATMEL or SILABS for the downgrading feature

A side note, COD-BO, and Batman are both working, on 3.55Kmeaw.

EDIT: Bookmark this! [MEGATUTORIAL] Update controller of BluRay. It has your PS3Key Files, and instructions for downgrading, and upgrading back, etc.

Dude thanks so much, i just did this to get to 3.15. so anyone having any doubts it is confirmed working. took me like 15 mins to get to 3.15 firmware, and to come out of factory service mode :P

i have another question tho, can i install the otherOS here, then do the QA flag thing, and then upgrade to 3.55 and still have my otherOS?
