ps3 ylod (laser?)

hi im new to this forum, my ps3 is about 2 year old,and it has the yellow light of death,a mate has done the reflow treatment on it and it worked for a few hrs, and it failed again, he has plugged in a hard drive player and played a couple of films on it,and it worked fine. he now reckons it could be a laser problem. is he right?

Absolutely NOTHING to do with the laser.

a reflow is a temporary solution it needs to be reballed
