Maximus AVR USB
maybe stupid question, but how do i connect it to a pc?
thats if you are able to access ps3 and run ftp in the xmb which i see its impossible .
Wait .. leme explain this
i have 2 other ps3s that are working, so im going to use one of them, BUT all my games i backuped up are on the ps3 that is now YLOD, so how can i get those games off that hard drive and use that hard drive in another ps3,
i know i cnt just plug in hard drive on other ps3 as it needs to format, but i want to keep my games
The only way to do it is to fix the YLOD then copy the games to an external drive first before it dies again.
Take the hard drive out and put it in your other PS3?
it wont work like he said in his previous post :

Ah I see. I did read his post... it just isn't that easy to read so I probably skimmed that bit!
Looks like your outta luck.
I am assuming the hard drive you are using on your dead PS3 is an internal hard drive....
I would try taking the hard drive out and using a SATA to USB adapter on it then plug it into one of the other PS3s as a USB drive, from there hopefully you could FTP the games to another drive or computer.
I don't think you will be required to format the drive this way since it wouldn't be seen as the primary drive for the system.
I haven't tried this my self but I think it would work.
