PS3 WONT UPDATE

Im on geohot's 3.55 cfw and I can not get back to the 3.55OFW or CFW. I have tried 2 different USB devices. It immediately says " No applicable update data." I have tried it in recovery mode. It just says "Checking...Please Wait." I have the firmware under X:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP (X=USB device). Any Ideas?

When it says "Checking, Please Wait" you need to wait. It will eventually work.

you should try to use the recovery mode and update using the OFW3.55

yeah downgrading is a option as well..you can go to 3.41 and update to 3.55

update: It did finally decide to try to update but it stopped at something like 70% and got stuck in an update loop. I can get it out of this loop by pulling out the hard drive and re-formating it but now what should i do??? if it wont install the OFW is it safe to try to downgrade? error: 8002f155 btw
