PS3 without HDD --> Firmware Reading
PS3 without HDD --> Firmware Reading –
08-21-2011,09:26 AM
Hi there,
I have a short question. Ive just received a PS3 from a customer which didnt wanted to let the hard drive in due to privacy. The console is a ylod one and looks very good and works again. But I cant boot the PS3 without a hard drive.
So Ive got my own PS3 with 3.55 Kmeaw installed and quite a few games on it. I dont want to risk a brick or something like this. So my question is: Can I put my hard drive into a stock PS3? Or do I have to buy a hard drive just to repair my customers PS3's and get a Firmware reading?
Greetings and thanks in advance.
Tim

Just give it back to him and let him try it himself. If you put your hdd it will ask to format it. And if you put another hdd in it, i think he would have to reformat his hdd and there goes his privacy. So best bet is just give it back to him without testing it.

install the new hdd, then go into the recovery menu. press and hold the power till it turns off then do it again and hold intel you hear thee double-beep. then try the either option 3 or 4. if nither work then try 5 but will replace everything and restore everything and erase everything
