Ps3 USB Jailbreak

Okay guys, so I got my “PS3 Usb Jailbreak” in the mail and have been using it for a few days. I have programmed it with all sorts of different payloads and have had good results, but first let me go over the features.

The dongle has 64k of flash which is larger than any dongle I've seen so far. The fact that it has so much memory means it allows us to use AsbestOS too boot linux. Apparently the USED to make a 16k version but is now out of production. Having 64k of space also future-proofs the dongle for more advanced/larger payloads that might come as the scene gets further into the PS3's security.


So the dongle is 100% upgradeable BUT we are forced to use a windows only program that you can download of their website. Unluckily the program doesn't let you pick your own hex file either, you have to use one of the payloads the program comes with. The program does seem to be updated regularly and has almost every payload (including AsbestOS). There are some reports that the sellers are working on letting you use your own payloads.







The PS3 Usb Jailbreak is also quite small. It is smaller that all the usb dongles in my house, smaller than a teensy, and definitely smaller than many devices that could be potentially used to jailbreak the PS3. Compared to a psp,ipod touch, blackberry, ipod nano, usb drive, and teensy board it looks very small. When it is inside the console the lip almost completely conceals it so that only the LED is showing.








I am currently using Open Backup Manager 1.[something] and Kakaroto's PL3 payload, and have had only two problems playing games. When I was playing Star Wars The Force Unleashed the game froze on the loading screen and would not go forward and Borderlands was only able to update when I put in Uncharted 2 into the BlueRay drive. Otherwise I have not had issues playing any games (off the hdd) including Uncharted 2 and God of War 3.

In conclusion the Ps3 Usb Jailbreak is a great dongle solution for jailbreaking the ps3, and has a few great features all the other dongles don't have. Cashing in at only around 25$ USD you can't afford not to buy it.

EDIT: I've been told a mac version of the programing tool is coming. The linux version was released today (just used it).
