HELLO!!!!! i have two questions???i have PS3 slim(160gig CECH 2504A Ver 3.40 OFW not custom) it is brand new....first question
1.how to get in recovery mode???hold power off/ON button and release when you heard two beeps don't work???WHY??Seconde question
2.if i want to install CFW KMEAW 3.55 on my OFW 3.40??? first i download and install OFW 3.55 then instal CFW PrePatched KMEAW 3.55 file + GEO HOT jailbreak + multiman 1.15...is this correct??? but i can't enter in RECOVERY MODE....PLEASE HELP..............

Recovery mode...

SAFE MODE actually...

With console off, press and hold power button...PS3 will turn on...keep holding till it turns off/power light turns red.

Press power again and hold. You will hear one beep, followed by two beeps. After the two beeps release your finger. You are now in SAFE MODE (recovery mode). Plus in a controller and press PS button.

The bottom most option is the one you need. You also need a blank USB dongle with a folder called PS3 on it, and inside the PS3 folder, you need another new folder called UPDATE. Inside this is where you put the PS3UPDAT.PUP file you wish.

It is always best to install original firmware before installing CFW. Not always necessary but good practice nontheless.

So download a 3.55 PUP and upgrade to 3.55 from the XMB...NOT FROM SAFE MODE.

Once on 3.55, you can then enter safe mode and install the kmaew pup to your USB.

The path for your USB memory stick is from root...Make a new folder called PS3...then inside this folder, made another new folder called UPDATE. In this folder, put your OFW 3.55 PUP in there. Once it is installed, delete this pup from your USB in windows and put your kmaew PUP where the original one was. Start up in safe mode and install using the bottom option on screen to update system software



BTW you Don`t need Geohot patch. Just a kmaew PS3UPDAT.PUP. You don`t need anything else.

MAN you are awesome...you have a beer from me...I understate procceder to instal CFW (first from xmb ofw 3.55 update via usb fat32 then from the SAFE MODE CFW KMEAW prepatched 3.55 but i try enter the safe mode and i can???is because 3.40ver or???maybe when i will be in ofw 3.55 i will succeed???

Safe mode should work on 3.40

I have the same model as you.

Remember my friend...

With PS3 off...

1) Hold power button... PS3 will turn on then after probably 5 or 10 seconds, it will turn off. DO NOT LET GO OF POWER BUTTON or you will have to turn PS3 off and do it again.

2) Hold again...Do NOT let go...You will eventually hear one beep, then two beeps. After the TWO beeps let go.
