what r slims like for problems i mean are they as prone to screwing up as the fats ylods etc?
Not to my knowledge but I guess anything could happen. I have never had an issue with my slim and I have had almost every CFW on it. My slim is a day one launch in Canada.
Strangely enough, I bought a 2101a brand new from a store with old stock a few weeks back. Works fine, if it's your 1st slim, make sure you're gentle with it, imho they feel cheap. Oh, when you here a "cracking" sound, it's just the plastic shell expanding from heat.
Apart from that they work just fine, take care of it
Aside from what everyone has posted, the SLIMs are supposed to last longer then the PHATs, from what I have heard.

I have owned 2 slims. The first one I bought third party and had for about 2 weeks, before I got the dreaded 3 beep shutdown from overheating. I traded it in for a new one (as they had no more used ones, and I caused quite a fuss.) I've had it for a couple of months now and It runs better than my friends Phat!
