PS3 to PS3 transfer –
Okay, here is my situation.
I have a PS3 160GB currently on 3.41. This will be my PS3 that is going to get jailbroken. Currently it is not.
I bought a used 120GB Slim that is on 3.50.
Am I able to transfer all my files, trophies, game data, saves, etc. to the slim without any issues? I just want to make sure that my 3.41 won't get updated to prevent jbing.
Thanks for any help.
If anyone is wondering, I believe it should work okay. I read on another forum that someone did it and was successful. I am going to give it a try tonight and see how it turns out.
Will report back with my results.
Can you be kind and link to this another forum?

The only thing that you can't do is "deactivate" your PSN accounts before doing it because they want you to log in to PSN, which requires the 3.50 update. It asks you to do so before the process begins, but you can just ignore it and not deactivate anything.
I was able to transfer all my items from my 3.41 to my 3.50 PS3. The only thing that doesn't appear to have transferred was my trophies. I believe they will show back up when I log in to PSN.
I am going to actually try loading a game on my 3.41 tonight and on my 3.50 log in to PSN and see what transpires. I think it should be okay.
Note: My 3.41 has yet to be jailbroken with backup manager. I am not saying that if you have installed BM on your system then you can transfer files to 3.50 without any problems. I don't know about that and would advise against it if you want to go on PSN.
Mickydk, type this, "transfer files on 3.41 ps3 to 3.50 ps3 slim", in google and it will be about the sixth one down (nextgenupdate). Hope that helps.
