I'll Admit... I'm lazy. Really lazy.

I now have my ps3 on a power outlet timer (see link for pic - below) to 'unplug' the power from my ps3 at 4:00am and turn it back on at 6:00am, when I get home from work i turn the ps3 on in JB mode and don't normally turn it off till I go to bed. -this reliefs my headache of constantly having to do the 'reach-around' on the ps3 and unplug/plug in the ps3.

Does anyone see a problem in doing this? - Anyone have a better way of doing this?

(I kinda wish there was a way to 'perma-mod' the ps3 so we wouldn't even have to deal with all that *sigh*)

either case - comment and suggest!

You can get some of the X3 stuff for home automation and setup a remote code to a programmable remote so all you have to do is hit a button on your remote from the comfort of your chair to turn off the power to the PS3 and turn it back on again. Call it a little fancy, but I love programmable remotes and automation.

As long as the PS3 isnt on playing I cant see a problem. Would essentially just be like flicking the switch on the wall socket.

Only other suggestion to make thisngs easier is one of those switches on ***********

I have mine on an 'eco' powerboard - which watches when my tv goes in to standby, and then cuts the power to everything else (including the PS3). Then when my tv is turned on, the ps3 gets power again... works fairly well

Just make sure you don't forget to put your ps3 on standby before you go to bed; if the ps3 loses power while it reads or writes to the hdd it can corrupt it. Then the only solution is letting the ps3 reformat the drive, and you lose everything on there.
