PS3 not reading BD-file system corrupted-help

I was on 3.41 with ps3key. during game the system stopped. I unplugged the power and when i turn it back on, the ps3 is not reading BD. It spins for a while and gives a click sound. the BD icon does not show up. I tried restore file system/restore database/ restore system/format HD(not the quick one). non of them worked. Every time I got to the restore manual and restore the file system, it shows the file system is corrupted and after restore and when I do the file restore again, it still says the file system is corrupted.

Now I upgraded to 3.55CFW. It does not work, no BD icon show up. When i go to restore manual and restore the file system, it again says files system is corrupted, but the restore won't fix it.

Any one can help? Thanks a lot.

BD gets disabled mate.
I bet your games when you put them in the tray it makes a grinding noise then another noise as if the disc ejects but it doesnt !

sounds like the BD laser needs 2 be replaced.. mine has done this b4 and needed laser replaced

It seems like software problem instead of hardware problem if it is linked with the file system.

Hey guys- exactly the same problem was experienced by me when i was troubleshooting my friends ps3. This problem occured when i rebuilded the database...
ma friend had actually posted the ps3 via local courier, and i was blaming him for doing so.Because we assumed that the read problems may have occured due to some physical damage inside or mis allignment of lens when the couriers guys wudda mishandled it..

But after seeing this thread, i have a slight feeling that it cud be a software problem.

Please note: i tried to rebuild the database because his ps3 had swirling icons during start,always and the menu icons can never be seen.Only swirls

@hx200-Try to insert a game disc and slighly shake or keep the console in 45 degree position so that it may read better if its a physical issue..If it reads the games after a pat on the console or keeping in a specific angle,then its a hardware issue for sure.Because in my friend's it used to readthe games when kept in vertical or semi vertical position , like 45degrees

The pat or 45 degree doesn't work. Still looking for solutions.......

You already got the solution, replace the laser. It has happened just the same way you described to me and a laser swap fixed it to 100%. Your laser just went out during game play is all it has NOTHING to do with your firmware or file structure.

how would the file system related to the laser. It would make sense if you tell me i need to replace the hard drive. it doesn't matter how many times i restore the file system, the next time i restore it, it says its corrupted again.
