PS3 media player over network......
PS3 media player over network...... –

First post guys, just been reading a lot of very good stuff, great efforts from everyone here.
I wanted to ask if/how it would be possible to create a PS3 media player which runs off the media sections (photo, music, video)
Reason being, I currently have a Dune Prime 3.0 networked blu ray player, this device lets me browse my shared network drives and play any media it recognises, wether it be photos, music or video. The device also plays blu ray discs. The one thing it does which the PS3 doesnt is stream Blu Ray movie Folders/ISO's over the network,, with full HD audio, PiP etc, as well as having a greater list of compatible files and media formats it can play.
Ultimetely I am looking to have my PS3 connected via ethernet to my router, so I can use the PS3 itself (not a DLNA media server running on my dekstopn or laptop machine) to view and play all types of media.
Any comments, suggestions and ideas welcome, just wanted know what could be done. Just for the record, I have no development skills at all, I am just merely gauging interest from people around here who could implement such a thing.
regards

Sorry I should have been clearer
Is there anyway we can get the ps3 to stream blu ray folders and iso's over the network.
The ps3 can play media off of attached hard drives ok. But, if streaming over the network, third party servers are required for the ps3 to access this media.
Is there a homebrew application that can be developed and installed to play files over a network without the need of an actual dlna server running on the source pc machine?
I want to eliminate the of the dlna server, something similar to xmbc perhaps, as it has increased file and media support?
Does that help?
cheers
