PS3 Matrix "unknown usb device"
PS3 Matrix "unknown usb device" –
12-29-2010,07:35 PM
Hey guys,
I purchased a matrix ps3 stick today and am having problems with it. I opened the current software from their website (www.matrixps3.com) and chose "Downgrader" and it's saying "update successful", but everytime I try to set my PS3 into factory mode- I just get a message that says "unknown USB device detected". It doesn't go into factory mode, not even after restarting the console without the dongle. I tried many different ways of pressing the power button and then the eject button. I also tried the dongle in both of the USB ports and did the trick of disconnecting the PS3 power source cable. There is no other device in the unused USB port and no game inside the disc drive. The red hard drive light comes on at first but then goes away to be replaced by a green light from the wifi but the ps3 isn't in factory mode. The light of the usb dongle lights up red and stays red.
My windows however doesn't recognize the dongle, it doesn't show up under 'computer' nor can I eject it. That seems to be normal. The software says the update of the dongle is successful. I have looked through a lot of tutorials online, searched on this forum and tried a lot- but nothing has worked so far. I am running the 3.42 software on a new PS3 SLIM.
Is anybody else having similar problems or does anyone have some light to shed?
Thanks for your help.

I am trying to downgrade since I am on 3.42.
I would not know what to do with the file Hermes 3.55SPOOF cause I cannot acces the matrix-dongle besides through the software of the developer. The stick doesnt show up as a drive on my computer.

replace minimus for matrix
do you get this far ?
Step 1.Plug the psgrade Minimus AVR USB into the right port (closest to the Blu-Ray Drive)
Step 2.Press power on button press the "EJECT" button in 200ms
Step 3.The screen to the console will flash several times and auto-turn-off, remove the Minimus AVR USB (Your console is now ready to enter "Factory Mode" now)
if it doesnt id try to reload the downgrader on to your stick again?

Nope..
I plug the usb in the right port. I press eject as fast as the buttons allow it and i hear a "beep beep beep" But my screen doesn't flash. It just keeps saying "no signal" - takes a bit longer but then it shows the PS3-intro. So i would not know when to pull out the dongle.
I did reload the downgrader again and again on to the stick.

hi
i have an eclips3 but maybe it works for you
first your matrixps3 cant be seen by a pc thats why you
have an installer program for the matrixps3
now to the ps3
unplug the ps3(that means take out the powerplug of your
ps3)
put in your matrixps3
put the powerplug back
now switch on your ps3 push the power button and then very fast the eject button you should hear a couple of beeps
your ps3 starts up and the light of your matrixps3 should
turn from red to green (or blue )this means your matrixps3 works correctly
if ps3 doesnt shut down automaticly wait a couple of minutes then shut it off yourself and then back on again
leave your matrixps3 in the usb
you should now see that you are in factory mode
when in factory mode shut down again remove matrixps3
put in your usb stick with downgrade files and turn on
your ps3
the screen stays black but downgrading should start
after a few minutes it should turn off automaticly
now put on your usb stick the file that takes you out of
factory mode on put the usb stick in your ps3
switch on the ps3 it stays on for 10 seconds then switch off again
take out you usb stick switch on the ps3 and it should be downgraded.
it should be something like this
but you cant get into factory mode and if the light stays
red means that it not working correctly
it could mean you dont push the powerbutton and then the eject button
but you say you hear a couple of beeps after pushing the
eject button and that should be correct
your matrixps3 could be broken something you should consider
