ps3 keeps crashing need help please

ok I back with more troubles, my 120GB ps3 slim, its on rebug 3.55.2 and it keeps crashing on me

I can run my homebrew but whenever I try to do a mod to the ps3 like install a coldboot
or
gameboot
or
even the ps2 emulator
or
even run a backed up game

the ps3 cuts to a black screen and comes up saying "the system software cannot be run correctly"

then it goes on to say push select and start to re-install the firmware

so any help is much appreciated guys I like really need this help

I got a work around for ps3 backups not playing, make shadow copies and install the pkg, but its when I install a new ps3 wave that it screws up and I re-install

Have you tried re-installing the firmware?
