About LinkBacksIve been a long time user of the PS3 Media Server, and one of the things I have been waiting for is some native support for .mkv files.
I dont really know if .mkv is supported under the new AVCHD managers that are coming out, but what would be necessary for the ability to play the files directly from the PS3, instead of streaming them?

12-25-2010,05:12 PMIndeed I'm surprised at the number of people that use these streamers. Just use MKV2VOB and in a quick amount of time you'll get a PS3 compatible file (since it doesn't convert but only changes the container).

Yes for best compatibility with AVI files, lot of AVI files for me don't work on PS3 but work on Xbox360
, MKV support delete Cinavia DRM like 3.10 .
But if you would not like that why not use streaming, but the PS3 hardware is not used just hardware of the computer, and with a NAS it's better for me .
I use tsmuxergui for the moment for convert MKV to m2ts .PS3 3.55 CFW Kweam , 500go
Now update my 3.15 and no Other OS now

12-25-2010,06:41 PMSometimes, MKV can be played using MKV2VOB, but PS3 cannot natively read DTS audio format unless converted into AC3.
This is why I use MultiAVCHD, because right before you start to mux the files, you get an option for "Sony Playstation 3" which WORKS for ME because I have been using this since.
I tried converting other ways to make DTS compatible with PS3, but when I tried MultiAVCHD, it worked PERFECT!
There are also many editing and demixing/muxing features in MultiAVCHD.
