if you have a HDD Enclosure, you can remove the HDD from your PS3 and format it with your PC. I have never done it but you should be able to format it that way. Also not sure if the PS3 does something different than a PC when formatting but it's worth a shot if you have no other options.

HDD Enclosure's cost like 5-10 bucks at a PC store.

Something written onto that HDD got corrupted and is giving your PS3 problems, your PC should be able to format it and once it is formatted, your PS3 may recognize it as a brand new HDD and format it. Then you may be able to get through the process of recovering your firmware. Currently your HDD sounds corrupted and your PS3 wont look at it. So give your PC a try.

Damn, sorry to hear. Did you try to do a full format or quick format?

I read that thread, sounds like you need to get a dongle. Look at PJRC website and buy the Teensy ++2.0. I have one from when i use to jb on 3.41 and I have done the process described in that thread. You need to go to Factory Mode to fix and only a dongle (USB development board) with a specific hex file can get you there.

Yes but to get bluray back, just downgrade to 3.15 or 3.21 or something lower than 3.41 and then update back to 3.41. The update will restore bluray functionality
