PS3 HDD swap –
I was wondering, if this was possible: I'm currently on 3,61 firmware on my bigger HDD but I have the original 80gb HDD saved somewhere and I think it is on 3,41 or even older than that. Could I just stick that HDD inside the PS3 and then Jailbreak it, or is the firmware saved somewhere else than the HDD?
it will tell you to reinstall 3.61
It wouldn't be firmware really if it's stored on the HD. The firmware is stored on the NAND (a chip) so no, it wont work.

Only the old PS3s have NAND, New phats and all slims have NOR so a lot of the firmware is stored on the HDD for NOR consoles.
