ps3 game rip possible?

is it possible to rip your own ps3 legit backups?
i want to have more games in my hard drive.

can we downsample the movies?
example: a dvdrip movie is just 700mb compared to its original size of 3gb or more.

final fantasy xiii for xbox360 is 18gb more or less. compared to the 44gb of ps3, its the same game but the size of the videos for ps3 is way too big.

can we also delete language and dummy files just like the psp?

i just hope that a new format will be released just like .cso for the psp and .wbfs for the wii.

Maybe we can. Maybe we can't. So far we dont know. I know we can delete the PS3UPDAT.PUP file.

Its possible. A few days ago I ripped Motorstorm from 12GB to 4Gb. All I did was dummy all the big videos to the smallest video it had, which was 144MB.

What made the game 12GB is the 9GB of video, the game itself is just 3GB.

i have read somewhere in this forum that someone tried removing other languages and it saves GBs of space for the game.. so yeah.. 12gb to 4gb is possible.. given that he even reduced the size of videos.. don't quote me on that though..

Motorstorm dont have that much videos to make it go from 12GB to 4gb.
