    Hy folks,
i have a RSOD (red screen of dead) on my ps3 which was on 3.55 kmeaw/multiman 1.13.
I recently changed my HD to a bigger one (250MB WD).
Everything went fine - i restored my system backup und made some tests with already backup-games.
Then i started to backup my Assassins Creed Brotherhood in multiman 1.13. I started the game and it wanted to update to the newest data. I agreed but it did not came over 0% after 10 Minutes so i decided to interrupt. the only way of shutting down the system was by power switch on the back.
After this my ps3 started only with RSOD.

I the meantime i already tried all points of the recovery menu without luck.
Theryby the HDīs where formatted but when it comes to the point where he wants to get the system software (OFW 3.55) everytime he come only to 40%. From there it goes very quickly to 100% ... restarts .. and RSOD again.

Please .. does anybody know what to do?
What do you think ... is there a way to get through this?

    Greetz

Remember kids, _MY_ CFWs are 100% safe and will never, EVER brick a PS3. I'm too good for that.

try this the problem is your hdd it is corrupted
    1 remove hdd
2 format ps3 hdd on pc
3 after format on pc format it again on ps3
4 And install 3.55 again by recovery

If it still doesn't work try this
1 put ps3 in service mode by psgrade usb
2 install firmware by usb service mode (you need lv2diag.self for 3.55 and 3.55 ps3updat.pup)

    thanks for your hints -
i tried already the first method.

for the second method i donīt know where to get a psgrade usb in germany.
AND i read that a downgrade from 3.55 is not possible (for those who upgraded from a lower fw to 3.55 before)

Unfortunately your PS3 is knackered. It is currently not repairable unless you send it to Sony.

The NAND has become corrupted, and seems to be more common on the 80gb model, though I am sure someone will either confirm this or correct me.

You'd have thought Sony would have installed a backup NAND just in case!!

Got the same model here with an RSOD as well. I've tried everything on this beast and it will not come back to life. Not sure if I buy the nand corruption though as it boots into service mode with no hd attached and with hd attached it gets RSOD. So it appears that something is messed up in vflash as it's the data in the firmware that gets written to the hd that seems to cause the RSOD. Just no idea how to correct it.
