I recently purchased a 3.60FW Slim PS3 that is in Demonstration Mode.

I don't care to jailbreak for piracy, or anything other than getting the PS3 to retail firmware so I can put Netflix on it.

I see that there is no 3.60 Jailbreak, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of upgrading the PS3 Demonstration FW to something like 3.72 Demonstration Mode?

Seeing as this is the latest firmware I felt that if I could get the Demo FW updated then I could possibly get a jailbreak to get it to retail sooner as more will focus on the newest firmware rather than an older firmware since most users would then just be able to update and jailbreak.

Any suggestions? I apologize if this is in another thread elsewhere I tried to do a quick search before starting a new thread and didn't see anything.

To unlock your Demo PS3 go to the XMB, then Security Settings. While highlighted, press L1+R1+Select+Square and it will ask you for a 4-digit code. The code for 3.60 should be 1739. Hope this helps, I've never tried it myself.

I have read that a normal update on a Kiosk PS3 will not remove it out of demo mode. A special firmware will have to be used which I do not think is available for 3.56+. If you can downgrade it to 3.55 or lower and use that CFW to remove it from Kiosk mode then just upgrade with an OFW then you should be good.

The only issue is that this still doesn't allow me to get to PSN to put Netflix on the PS3.

I am not looking to try to update with a normal update to get it out of demo mode, I'm actually looking to upgrade to another Demo Firmware. That way I have a higher chance of being able to Jailbreak and applying Retail FW after the Jailbreak.

Probably an E3 , new model, could help you to reprogram your kiosk as 3.55 kmeaw without trouble. Try to mail the support, asking it.

if you wanna jailbreak updating is the wrong way to go. You need to downgrade.
