I know it's more PSP related but the it's still a PS3 controller so..
Can you use a USB connected PS3 controller on a PSP? I want to play portable OPS but the controls are so freakin bad.

yes, but that requires extensive modding of psp (thereis such a mod, look it up on youtube)
i don;t think psp has a driver to act like usb host, and cable with mini usb ports on both ends is not really easy to find, too.
you could play it on psp go which AFAIK can use ps3 controller via bluetooth. not sure if the game is available for the go, though.
If your PSP has CFW on it and you don't care about sitting in front of your computer while playing it:
-Install the Remote Joy Lite .prx plugin on the PSP.
-Install the Type B PSP drivers that come with the remotejoylite package/zip/rar to the computer.
-Install DS3 tool for the PC to be able use the PS3 controller on the computer.
-Hook up both the PSP and PS3 controller to the computer
-Run DS3 tool and enable the PS3 controller.
-Run the Remote Joy Lite software.
-Map the PS3 controller to Remote Joy Lite.
-If you're not going to be looking at the PSP on the computer monitor, change the transfer type to TEST mode in RJL to ensure the least input lag.
--Tick the RJL setting that says "Start screen transfer off."
--Hit the screen button on the PSP to bring the screen up if it's off.
--Tick the RJL setting that says "Enable non-active input," so you don't have to have the RJL software up while using it.
You can map multiple PS3 controller buttons to one PSP button. So if playing Portalble Ops, map the PS3 controller's right analog stick and D-Pad to the PSPs D-pad to control the camera as well as be able to navigate menus.
This is what I do as well as hook the PSP 2000 up to my TV using the PSP component cables and use a Bluetooth dongle for my PS3 controller so that it's wireless. Seems like a lot of work but after you do it once, it's easy and works perfect. I hate playing the PSP without the controller now.
