PS3 CFW UPDATE Question
PS3 CFW UPDATE Question –
11-20-2012,08:05 AM
Hello fellow sceners.
My friend bought a 60GB PS3 with BC, CECH-C04, at FW 3.41
My question is , is it safe for me to upgrade his ps3 to 3.55 then up to 4.30 cfw Rogero afterwards? Ive heard about some PHAT ps3 bricks after installing rogero cfw and i want to be absolute sure since id rather not ruin the ps3 he just bought <.<
Thanks for you replies

It is safe to update to rogero if you do it right.
First update your ps3 to 3.55 ofw
then update to 3.55 cfw
Toggle QA
then update to rogero 4.30 v1.04
Always update your system using recovery mode.
Good luck

Thanks for the quick reply jayfunk, will follow your instructions to the letter :P
The QA flag is a "must do" for PHAT ps3 i suppose, never did it on my own slim cfw
Thanks again!

well Rogero did brick my CECHC03 anyway, so who knows, it might work on you, I just did recover it using flasher and now used REX 4.21.1 instead, works just fine without bricking my console

Rogero 4.30 bricks it. I did follow the same pattern to install but I did get a brick.
Rogero 4.21 v1.09 works fine though since I used that before REX came out
I still recommend 4.21.1REX, yes it might need patch on some games, but you can do that very easy anyway and CFW 4.30 had weird bugs, one of them is random bricking your console.
