PS3 Blu-Ray Logic Board Swap

my bluray won't read any disk , so i switched out the laser and still no good . so went cfw but homebrew apps wouldn't load at all just black screen witch means my logic board is screwed .

so my question is will this repair fix it . since i cant post links here's the description of the repair .

Description:
This repair is for your broken PS3 Blu-Ray drive Logic Board. If you have cracked your Logic Board, if you have broken off some components of it, or in any other way destroyed it, or if you are getting errors where your laser will not light up, then this is the repair for you. This repair consists of replacing your Logic Board. You can get a replacement, however, your Logic Board is Paired to your PS3 motherboard, and if you do not switch the security chip, it will not work. This service will replace your board, and swap your security chip by de-soldering it from the mainboard, re-balling it with 0.60 solder balls, and re-applying the security chip to a new, working board.

I have never heard of anyone doing what you have posted. I would just want to make sure they are a legit place is all. Most all say you need your own logic board or remarry it

You could install BDB CFW 3.55. It is made for people with broken blu ray drive.

but will it work for broken logic boards?

no this firmware does NOT let you do anything the other firmwares dont. what it does is bypass the firmware update for the bluray drive logic board which some people that had the update fail because the updates were failing that were needed for the remarrying process or people who just wanted other os.

You'll need to downgrade to the BD Bypass 3.15 OFW then go into service mode (NOT Factory Mode) for that you'll need a dongle I used the atmega32u4 dev board to do this. then there are self files that can start the remarrying process upon reboot from the dongle.

ok thanx for the reply guys. ive decided to remarry it myself but now im stuck on witch logic board model i need . i have a ceche01 80gb would any BMD-001 board work.
