PS3 3.70 downgrade to 3.55

Hey has anyone tried it yet?..about the buying off the chips and soldering your own?..

can you guys/gals share me all the info's into this?..im keen to learning to downgrade my ps3 slim cech-2006a

this are the qns i have in mind, will be adding more if i have more qns to ask

1. where do i buy this chip?
2. can show me the best step method of the link so i can read carefully?
3. about soldering- can any tom and dick solder?..im keen to this myself..a sense of accomplishment
4. what step should i be precautions about?
5. after i downgrade now what? i know can jailbreak but how and what do i do haha..

YES i do know i'm an inexperience.

and what does all this short words mean, please enlighten me etc..CFW 3.55 and OFW 3.70 or NOR flashes ..and many many more..its so confusing lol

It would be nice if we had some kind of "sticky" article that had all the basics that somebody new to the scene would need. It would contain basic info about what firmware you can put CFW on, easy jailbreaking instructions and a glossary of lingo/acronyms.

Yes, I totally agree with you indirect76, it would be mandatory for a new who has signed up to be made to read the rules of asking for 3.6X CFW or above. If they still ask the thread will be shut and the member be given a warning.

Yeah, I get annoyed by the same questions myself, but like agreeing to term & services, most new users will load the page and be done. I was thinking more like saying "hey check out this page <LINK>. If that does not answer your questions, then come back and post."

just my 2 cents, if you don't know anything about hardware mod, don't do it. also, downgrading using flash device need more than just a soldering things...
