PS2 System Data Update
PS2 System Data Update –
Hello. I've got a fairy unique problem that maybe someone can provide a solution to.
I own a 60GB backwards compatible PS3 installed with 3.55.2 Rebug. I mostly use the system to play an MMO called Final Fantasy XI that was released for the PlayStation 2. The game is unique as it requires the PS2 System Data installed in order for it to recognize the internal drive of the PS3. The PS2 System data makes a partition of 10GB when the game is installed into the PS3, which is used for storing additional files and updates that the game receives.
The game doesn't require PSN access, so I've been able to play it freely on a CFWed PS3.
Recently though, a new expansion to the MMO was announced, and it was stated that the size of the Hard Drive's Partition would have to be increased to compliment the game's new updates. The update will increase the size of the partition from 10GB to 21GB, and unless the update is accepted, players will no longer be able to play the game. The problem is that this update for the PS2 System Data will only prompt on PSN during a PS3 System Firmware Update.
I am able to log into PSN via F*ck PSN on 3.55. However, there is no prompt for an update. I am wondering if I need a spoofer for the latest version. My question and issue is if I am able to somehow obtain a spoofer for the system firmware 4.11 or higher, would PSN prompt me for this update, or am I out of luck?
Thank you in advance,
I don't understand something. Why do you not just getting a direct link for this package and install it via Install Packages option?
//ow, sorry, please a Mod for delete this post.
I believe the update for the PS2 System Data Partition Increase is automatic, in other words, only after updating the system software of the PS3 will it kick the PS2 partition size up. I did try to install the PS2 System Data as a pkg file that I managed to find on the internet, but it was the exact same file size.
BTW: It's VHDD (and place in dev_hdd0/game/ dir under this ID) or it's new partition as i.e partition for Other OS? If a virtual HDD, so maybe it's just 1:1 image from PS2 and could be transplant from real PS2HDD (just like i.e Memory Card images)? Just curious.
