PS2 on slim ps3?

Hi guys i just jb my slim ps3 3.55 and im just wondering is there any way to play my ps2 games i still have left laying around ? I gave my ps2 away to my cousin whos like 5 year old and it would probably be mean to ask my uncle for it back...
So could i play ps2 games by like a emulator or something ?
also can i play backups too ?
I use to love playing that jet li game but i only rented it :\
so any way ?
