Which PS2 - PS3 converters emulate the home button?
Which PS2 - PS3 converters emulate the home button? –

I've got a couple of cheap PS2 joypads which I'm tempted to use on my PS3 via a converter, but none of the converters listed on either E-Bay, *********** or wherever say if they emulate the home button, perhaps via holding down the select button for a long time? And is there any downside to these converters apart from the lack of sixaxis?

this is the one i have, i use ps1 controller for it, the rating is low with people saying it doesn't work, maybe for guitar heroe but for my controller it works just fine and i hold select or pust the little button on the device and home comes up. there is a user who rated it a 5 on there that is pretty much how it has been working for me

I bought one from Walmart for $19.95, works great. -- There is little button on the side of the adapter that is used to re-sync or work like the HOME button (the new extra button) on the real PS3 controller. -- It also has a slide switch with 3 positions for guitar hero, normal, and flip (??) -- Don't know never used the "guitar", I just use my PS2 controller.
The only thing the PS2 adapter does NOT to, is emulate the PUSHING of START and SELECT at the SAME time, but this is only used in the RECOVERY menu when using option #6 (System Update) -- But useful in unBricking a PS3.
